Geoagiu-Băi:  is a village belonging to Geoagiu Town in Hunedoara County, Transilvania, Romania.
From an administrative point of view, Geoagiu-Băi spa resort is part of Geoagiu Town, being located 6 km from the county seat.
Natural cure factors consist in alkaline, slightly sulphurous, bicarbonate, magnesium, mesothermal and thermal mineral waters (29-32 degrees Celsius); peat, ferruginous sludge, sedative climate.
Therapeutic indications: Locomotor system disorders (rheumatism, neuralgia); gynecological disorders, nutritional and metabolic diseases; dermatological diseases, hepatitis, chronic cholecystitis.
The ozone air, always refreshed by mountain breezes, recommends the resort also for the treatment of nervous system diseases, fatigue, exhaustion, anemia, neurosis.

The Roman Road. This road dates back to the second century and used to connect the Cigmăuși Roman Castrum to Germisara Roman Thermal Baths. Nowasays, a 165 m section is still visible.

“Germisara” Roman Thermal Baths. In 1986 systematic archaeological researches began within the limits of the Ancient Thermal Complex site in the centre of Geoagiu-Băi resort. These researches have identified a thermal complex unique in the world by the way of organizing and arranging the basins, as well as the mobile inventory discovered here. In successive layers, one can see how the thermal spring was used by the Geto-Dacians even before the Roman conquest.

Clocota Waterfall: The waterfall is located on the river Clocota at the entrance to Geoagiu Bai resort and records a difference of almost 20 m on the stream, due to the fact that there is a steep rupture of the land.

Geoagiu: (in Hungarian Algyógy, in German Gergesdorf) is a town in Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania, made up of the constituent locality Geoagiu (capital), and the villages: Aurel Vlaicu, Bâcâia, Bozeș, Cigmău, Gelmar, Geoagiu-Băi, Homorod, Mermezeu-Văleni, Renghet and Văleni.
Tourist Attractions:

“Rotonda Church” in Geoagiu is the oldest stone church in Romania, built at the end of the 11th century by the noble family Ákos, who owned the Geoagiu area at that time.

Reformed Church:
Built after the 17th century, the Reformed Church is 20 m long, 10 m wide and it has a 20 m high tower showing something odd: one cannot enter the tower; it has no door, no windows, and no skylight.

Orăștie: formerly Oroșteiu (in German Broos, n Hungarian Szászváros, translation „Saxon City”, in Latin Saxopolis) is a municipality in Hunedoara County, Transilvania, Romania.

Oraștie Fortress is a complex of historical monuments located on the territory of Orastie municipality.
It includes a small space that it may be considered a fortified church rather than a city enclosure.

“Saint Archangels Michael and Gavriil” Orthodox Cathedral:
It is one of the most beautiful churches in the country, being a first-class tourist attraction. The fundamental cornerstone was laid in 1936.

Sarmizegetusa Regia: (the kingdom) was the capital and the most important military, religious and political centre of the Dacian state before the wars with the Roman Empire. It was the core of a strategic defensive system consisting of six Dacian fortresses in the Orastie Mountains, used by Decebal for defending against the Roman conquest. The Sarmizegetusa archaeological site is located in the village of Grădiştea Muncelului in Hunedoara County.

Tebea Moți Pantheon:
The historical monument of the Țebea Hero’s Cemetery is also known under the name of Moti Panteon. Located next to the European road E79, this complex has several sites that recall moti’s glorious struggling times against social injustices, for liberation, and national unity. In the cemetery there is the village church, the graves of Avram Iancu, Ioan Buteanu and Simeon Groza – revolutionaries of 1848, graves and commemorative crosses of the heroes of the Romanian Independence War, World War I and World War II, Horea’s Holm, as well as other holms

Crisan (Vaca) Monastery in Ribiţa Commune:

The Crișan Monastery, also known as the Vaca Monastery, is an Orthodox monastery located in the Crișan village belonging to Ribita commune, Hunedoara County. The Monastery of monks, founded in the 16th century, is located at about 7 km north of Brad and 46 km north of Deva.

Hunedoara Castle, also called the Corvinus or Hunyadi Castle, is the capital fortress of Hunedoara, one of the most important monuments of Gothic architecture in Romania.
It is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the world, being in the “Top 10 European Fairytale Destinations”.
The castle was built in the fifteenth century by John of Hunedoara on the site of an old fortress, on a rock at the bottom of which the Zlaști stream flows.

The Mazi Gorge (CheileMăzii) is located above Geoagiu Băi, at the foot of the Metaliferi Mountains, near Mada village.
They are very beautiful, though little explored and known. Mazi Gorge is formed by Balșa river, between Pleşa Mare Hill (712 meters altitude) and Dosu Hill (684 m).
It can be crossed only in summer and autumn if the river is not very swollen. It has to be crossed very carefully, because one has to travel mostly through the water and, on the other hand, there are horned vipers in the area.

Glodului Gorge: The natural area is located in the southeast of the Metaliferi Mountains (mountain group of the Apuseni Mountains belonging to the Western Carpathian Mountain Range), in the central-western part of Alba County (on the territorial limit with Hunedoara County) and the northern part of Ardeu.
